| Another month, another new year... |
Indulge your ultimate chocolate fantasy… minus the guilt! |
‘Another month, another new year' seems to be the theme of 2008 so far! With the January 1 celebrations followed by Chinese New Year in February, we are now preparing to mark Balinese New Year (Nyepi) on March 7, and that means another reason to reflect on the year just gone and look forward to the year ahead.
We've designed a special Nyepi package to help you celebrate what is the most important day on the Balinese Hindu calendar, a time for quiet introspection that is then followed by vibrant festivities that showcase the unique highlights of the local culture. It's a great time to be on the island.
We've also created the ultimate chocolate-lovers package to make this Easter extra memorable...and not for the extra kilos you'll gain! Our Easterlicious Chocolate Treatment delivers all the satisfaction of a chocolate fantasy, without the guilt.
For expectant first-time parents, there's the opportunity to enjoy a romantic getaway before you enter the rewarding but demanding world of parenthood. Nothing can prepare you for the amazing experiences you will have as parents, but our Baby Moon package will ensure you are at least fully rested and invigorated to welcome your new baby into the world!
Also in this issue of Prana Lifestyle, we thank all staff for their support of the Jodie O'Shea Orphanage and we prepare to hold another spirituality workshop following the success of the Art of Living Retreat in January.
There's plenty planned for coming months and every excuse to take some time out to indulge in spiritual and physical healing. Everyone deserves some Prana therapy, so read on and enjoy!

Baby Moon Package
Prana's romantic getaway makes perfect pre-baby holiday |

Prana hosted the internationally-renowned Art of Living Retreat from January 21-25, and it was such a success that we are already planning the next one!
Scheduled for March 10th, - March 14th, 2008, this worldwide spirituality workshop is based on the ancient Vedic Knowledge of Life, adapted to the needs of modern life by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar , founder of the Indian-based Art of Living Foundation. |

Parenthood is life's greatest miracle and gift, and the rewards far outweigh those sleepless nights and dirty nappies; they are all worth it! But at the same time, we at Prana understand that parenthood changes everything. Future holidays will most likely be family affairs, and it may be a while before first-time parents get the opportunity to enjoy a romantic getaway again, let alone a massage! |

Prana supports Jodie O'Shea Orphanage
|
Prana was proud to donate towels and sheets to the Jodie O'Shea Orphanage recently, as the orphanage increases in size and prepares to expand its facilities to accommodate more needy children. Prana staff visited the 32 children aged from infancy to 17 years at the orphanage in Denpasar, where they witnessed first-hand the happy, caring and stimulating environment that has been created for them.
Many of these children are not parentless, but they come from very disadvantaged families in Sumba, Bali, Ambon and Sumatra . The orphanage provides them with the opportunity to attend school and live in a nurturing, secure environment, with the ultimate aim being to reunite them with their families in their home village, where they can put their new skills and knowledge to use to improve the livelihood of their relatives.
|
Named after Jodie O'Shea, a young Australian victim of the 2002 Bali bombing, the orphanage was founded in 2005 by Alison Chester, a British-born Indonesian citizen, and her husband Riyanto Samadi. It started with 15 Sumbanese children rescued from an abusive orphanage elsewhere in Denpasar, where beatings and electric shock punishment were common and financial donations were misused.
Today, the Jodie O'Shea Orphanage accommodates 32 children under the umbrella of the MUM Foundation and is run with the help of Julie Le Baube and two Indonesian carers who live at the home. The orphanage is hoping to raise enough money to build an extension in 2008 to accommodate more children.
