Prana held another successful Kriya Yoga workshop recently as part of its extended yoga program, giving yogis and newcomers an opportunity to ( explore ) practice these Sacred ancient tecnicques coming from Himalaya .
This intensive ( half-day) workshop was held on June 30 in our yoga studio, and run by Angelo Ricciardi a certified Senior Hamsa Acharya / Spiritual Guide who is certified by HamsaYoga Sangh and authorized by the Kundalini-Kriya Master, Yogiraj SatGurunath Siddhanath .
Kriya Yoga is the yoga system well-known in ancient India but which was lost to the world until its revival by the grace of Indian Divine Incarnation Mahavatar Babaji , who initiated his disciple Lahiri Mahasaya into this practice around 1861. It achieved widespread publicity through Paramhansa Yogananda's book ‘ Autobiography of a Yogi ' .
In his book, Yogananda describes Kriya Pranayama thus: “The Kriya Yogi mentally directs his life energy to revolve, upward and downward, around the six spinal centers (medullary, cervical, dorsal, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses) which correspond to the twelve astral signs of the zodiac, the symbolic Cosmic Man. One-half minute of revolution of energy around the sensitive spinal cord of man effects subtle progress in his evolution; that half-minute of Kriya equals one year of natural spiritual unfoldment.” The system consists of a number of levels of Pranayama -based techniques intended to enhance spiritual development and effect a deep state of tranquility and union with God.
It is Simple Anyone can do it!
Keep an eye out for the next workshop.
