Spa Trek - Bali Spa
Losing
baggage isn’t normally a desirable holiday experience-– except,
of course, when said baggage is several kilograms of angst, stress
and toxic living. That’s just what the newly revamped
Prana Spa and Villas in Bali offers – the chance to unload
some of the side-effects of a toxic lifestyle in deeply luxurious
surroundings. Once you’ve passed through the gates you’re
in a colour-saturated paradise. Just inside the entrance is
the Prana Spa, inspired by classical Mogul architecture. Beyond
the spa is a series of private villas, each with its own separate
bougainvillea-draped entrance.
Inside the spa, the Mogul influence is rampant; burnt orange walls,
midnight blue tiles, minarets and gilding abounds. The treatment
rooms are dimly-lit, opulently decorated dens, complete with Arabian
Nights-style draped silks and intoxicating fragrances. Whether
you visit Prana Spa and The Villas to unwind, to rid the body of
evil toxins, or simply to wallow in romantic luxury with a loved
one, the lasting impression is simply that sheer, old-school luxury
is still in style on this beautiful island. And long may
it reign.
