Greetings From The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa!

Easter is just around the corner and, apart from the chocolate-themed pleasures of this holiday, The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa is celebrating with a new Easter package. Our accommodation, spa and dining specials are designed to provide the most tranquil, indulgent and simply irresistible Easter experience. Don’t worry, the Easter Bunny will find you here. And if you do happen to over-indulge (where’s the fun in it if you don’t?), you can always join our Holistic Nutrition, Fitness and Lifestyle Retreat with qualified Holistic Lifestyle Coach Lian Monley from April 20-26.

Meanwhile, the rainy season is coming to an end in Bali, and The Villas is preparing for cooler, milder temperatures as it begins an intensive renovation program. These renovations, which have already been completed at seven of our private one-bedroom villas, come at a time when many other properties are trimming costs and downgrading amenities. We will not sacrifice our guests’ comfort for anything, and so we look forward to welcoming you back soon to experience the upgraded facilities for yourself.

Finally, we share details of our ongoing community program, and announce the winners of our bi-monthly raffle: Mr. Alvin Yew Khye Thoong, Singapore and Mr. Mick Yap, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia who have won two nights’ free stay at The Villas. Congratulations from all of us here at The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa, your private paradise on the Island of the Gods.

Staff Profile - Fadila - (Telephone Operator)

Please tell me about yourself.
I am originally from Surabaya. I am married and have one son of 8 years old.

When did you first came to Bali?
Approximately 16 years ago when I starting studying Senior High School of Tourism. After that I went back to Surabaya to join college.

Why did you decided to come back to Bali?
I really enjoy living in Bali. Bali’s lifestyle is more free.

You currently work almost one year at The Villas. Where did you work before this job?
I worked at the Besakih Hotel in Sanur in the reception and as an Operator as well. After my job in Besakih I decided to go to Adelaide, Australia. Here I gained some experience in one of the famous casinos. After a while I decided to come back to Bali and I started working at The Villas.

Do you enjoy working here?
Yes, very much. This is my first job in a 4 star hotel, which is more challenging.

What is your plan in the future?
I would like to broaden my experience in the near future and would love to become a Receptionist. I love the interaction with the guests and maintaining the relationship with them. I am currently participating in a cross training program and am working two days a week at the reception of The Villas.

Several times already I have had the pleasure of tasting some of your cakes and pastries. Is baking a hobby of yours?
Yes, definitely. I love to bake and cook as well. I love to try out new recipes and have them tested by my friends and colleagues. It’s a real challenge for me.

The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa continue charitable work

Staff of The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa continue their commitment to local community foundations, having visited a school for Indonesian orphans and a home for the elderly last month.

Several enthusiastic staff members visited the Yayasan Al Islam Hidatayatulla, a school in Denpasar for orphaned or impoverished children from Bali and other areas of Indonesia. The visit coincided with a break from classes, so our staff were able to meet with the students as they donated some much-needed provisions, such as linen, sarongs, uniforms, sleeping mats, towels and pens. The foundation, which runs other schools in Indonesia, eventually hopes to arrange exchange programs for each student, depending on their qualifications, interests, and individual circumstances.

The staff also provided moral support and donations of goods to the Wana Seraya Foundation in Denpasar, which cares for elderly people. Run by the local government but under-funded, the foundation cares for 40 women and nine men.

“The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa will continue to support these foundations on a regular basis, building our social and humanitarian commitments as a rewarding element of our working environment,” said Personnel and Training Manager, Nur Syamsi. “We realise that what we give might not have great value to us, but it can make a world of difference for the recipients.”
