It might sound like a scene from a romantic movie. A couple holidaying together on a tropical island, enjoying cozy candle-lit dinners in the privacy of their villa, romantic sunset cocktails, breakfast in bed and rose petal baths. It doesn't get more amorous than this. But then the man organises the ultimate surprise for his unsuspecting lady: a luxurious Shirodara treatment that ends with a beautiful ring being placed on her finger. As dreamy as it sounds, this is not a figment of your imagination. This is a scene straight out of The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa.

We are privileged to host many weddings and honeymoons thanks to the privacy and luxury of our villas and our commitment to our guests' every need, but sometimes we are also lucky to witness guests' exciting declarations of love. One such time was when one of our valued Australian guests, Mr Jeff Niemski, decided to propose to his girlfriend Meghan in true style. It has to be one of the best proposals ever: Mr Niemski booked a treatment at Prana Spa for Meghan and while she was blissfully unaware of what was being planned, we decorated the stairs leading from the spa to the restaurant with rose petals and tea-light candles. As she emerged and made her way down the stairs, still completely in the dark about the surprise that awaited her, Mr Niemski went down on one knee and proposed marriage in front of everyone in the restaurant. Of course, she said yes!

They then celebrated their engagement with a romantic dinner in a private corner of The Villas property, surrounded by lush tropical gardens and the transcendent aura of Bali .

We were very honoured to be able to set the scene for the Niemski's new life together and we wish them all the best for the future.

Another of our regular guests, Mr Jacques Boehrer, also surprised his girlfriend Jolanda by popping the question while staying at The Villas. We were very honoured to receive an invitation to their wedding in Switzerland and have been notified that they intend to arrange a Balinese blessing at The Villas in the near future. We couldn't be happier for them.
