Greetings from The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa |
August is without doubt the busiest month in Bali , and one of the most festive and colourful. You will notice the red-and-white national flag of Indonesia draped over shopfronts, hanging from restaurant ceilings, and flying from car bonnets and the top of buildings as national Independence Day approaches.
This important holiday adds an extra splash of colour to the streets of Bali , which are always adorned with the natural beauty of this culture, as the Balinese go about their daily rituals and take part in lively ceremonies.
Also this month, we welcome a new Sales Manager and Personnel Training Manager to The Villas team, and launch a three-day Luxury Getaway Package and four-day Yoga Package to enhance our guests' experience.
Every day in Bali , there's just so much to celebrate. What better way to enjoy the festivities than with the serenity, luxury, award-winning facilities and world-class service of The Villas Bali Hotel & Spa.

Please tell me about yourself?
I am 32 years old. I am married and have two sons, 5 and 3,5 years old. I graduated from Tourism High School in Singaraja.
What did you do first after graduation?
I worked as a Tour Trekking Guide at Dirgantara for 7 months and as a waiter at Terrace Restaurant in Legian. In 1999 I started working at The Villas Bali. |
Did you immediately start working at The Villas Bali in the Purchasing Department?
No, I started working as a driver first. Prior to becoming Purchasing Manager, I also worked as a Room Boy in the Housekeeping Department and as a Store Keeper.
What do you enjoy about working here?
Yes, very much. The job is very challenging and I get to know a lot of different people. I am maintaining relationships with many different suppliers, which is enjoyable.
What is your plan for the future?
I would like to broaden my experience in the future. My dream is to have my own business one day, as a supplier of goods. |

Independence Day! |

This year Indonesia celebrates her 63rd anniversary of Independence Day. August 17 marks the day when Indonesia proclaimed its independence back in 1945. Every year, the entire country commemorates the occasion in both solemn and cheerful ways. The president and his cabinet preside over a flag-raising and lowering ceremony to honor the heroes who fought for independence. Indonesia is draped in red and white (the national colors) with every imaginable street decoration. Merdeka!

We are pleased to introduce to you our new Sales Manager, Mr. Kadek Budiartha ( Budi ).
Budi joins The Villas Bali after working at the Rama Restaurant Group in Bali . Prior to this, he worked at The Beat Magazine. Budi will be responsible for several markets, with the main one being Japan . With his experience in Food & Beverage and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) he is a great asset to our team. |

Nur Syamsi brings full hotel experience to his new position as Personnel Training Manager. He has worked in several hotels and boutique properties in various positions. These include training the Front Office staff in the pre-opening of Oasis Hotel Nusa Dua,
and separate stints working as
Personal Assistant to general managers at Karma Resorts and Santai Hotel.
Sam will be active in improving hotel operations and training staff in several departments. |

The Letter of the Month has been received from Mrs. Flowers, Australia.
Mrs. Flowers stayed with us in April together with her family and friends.
Mrs. Flowers: ‘We all had an excellent holiday and are planning on returning to Bali and to stay in your beautiful villas again. On our last night at The Villas Bali we had the BBQ night in our villa and had a beautiful dinner for 12 people – everyone thought it was just fantastic and a lovely way to end our holiday. '
